PARTY

This was an ink drawing from a photograph in a cake decorating book that Carissa gave me... what a pal! Then I traced it in illustrator, (like a lazy person), and added some color. I'll work on it again later, since it will make a nice party invitation/bday card... eventually.

LESLIE AND THE LYS

Pretty excited about this one. I was fortunate enough to be able to draw a t-shit for the talented Leslie Hall. Here are a couple pictures of the final product, (she picked the AMAZING neon shirt colors), and a picture of the original drawing. You can purchase one HERE!

MONSTERS

MonochroMONSTERS! Digitally colored ink drawing.

LIST

This is a sketchbook sketch of some things I was thinking about the other day, drawn as I was thinking about them. Apparently two things were most important to me at the time, and apparently my brain only functions in nonsensical list form.

BIGFOOT

Just going over the to-do (didn't do) list. I bet bigfoot doesn't have a list. Let's celebrate my non accomplishments with a pre-dog walk, pack, and sleep doodle on notebook paper, digitally colored.

NEVERMIND

So busy that I chose nothing over anything... ballpoint pen, photoshop, and decades old Mtv. It's amazing what you can do with five minutes of scheduled un-productivity.

BUSY

Way too much going on lately, the only drawing I've been doing is of the amazing conversations I hear during my lunch break at work, (outside, of course, since I refuse to use the crowded break room).

Of all the things keeping me way too busy, this is my favorite... his name is FOUR
. He came from Homeward bound K9 rescue and is 5.5 months old. He loves garbage, leaves, and a blue stuffed dog from his grandpa.

Also, he winks.

IDEAS

My wonderful and talented friend, Carissa, was kind enough to feature me on her blog this morning. It made me think about how I haven't been so good at blog posting lately and my etsy shop has been on vacation for most of the summer. Pretty sure all this humidity has scrambled my brain because I THINK I'M OUT OF IDEAS....

I've been doing plenty of drawing, just not turning these pieces of paper into anything share/sale-able. I need a plan, other then greeting cards. What do you want to see on etsy? at White Rabbit? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

NEWS

I bought a newspaper today and here are some of the headlines, in ink and colored pencil on bristol board. I think this could be a fun weekly sketchercise.

PRESIDENTS

It's so so hot out today, and it's just as hot in my un-air conditioned apartment... so instead of cleaning like I'd planned, I did a quick sketch (in pencil) of each of the presidents of the United States. Most of them turned out pretty hilarious looking, but this fifth grade worthy art project really took my mind off the sweat stains I surely left on the couch.

CATHOLIC

Both of these are unfinished drawings form a religion series I'm working on. They are in ink and I have no idea how to finish them. A project I'll save for a rainy day.

NEW APARTMENT

Photo 1. Small taste of our feather, flat rock, and pet photo collection shelf.
Photo 2. Wooden crate made into a living room shelf. Mostly for "cracked" magazines and other light reading.
Photo 3. Dining room and kitchen.
Photo 4. Rocking chair and Dr. Mario corner.
Photo 5. Tea and Science.
Photo 6. The babies are finally settling in.
Photo 7. Cozy little living room.
Photo 8. Why yes, I did put them in chronological order.

PROOF

Finally all moved in and (almost) unpacked. The first photo is a tiny piece of the hallway shelf, which houses our feather and flat rock collections. The second photo is proof that I've been working on some new collages.

SCUBA

New idea...brightly colored scuba divers on black. Ink illustrations, digitally colored. I really want to make a few more and have these be a pack of cards, postcards, or prints... but a black background, so much ink.Good idea? Or try again?

DUCKS

A couple more ducks and I'll have a pack of cards!!

MORE BIRDS

Some birds, drawn and textured. All are pencil and ink drawings with digitally colored backgrounds. Number 2 (the light pink one) has one duck colored with markers. Number 4 (the one with the camel head) is digitally colored with.... A CAMEL HEAD!

I'm thinking this will become a card pack eventually. Digitally colored, hand colored, black and white, camel heads? Opinions?

HAPPY VALENTINES DAY

A quick sketch (valentines themed-ish?) from possibly the most useful book purchase ever... (the book uses photographs. this is poorly drawn by me). MMMmmm, here's to spring springing and bird sightings.

Speaking of bird sightings, I thought I saw a bald eagle but decided I was crazy. Then I saw it again and it turns out I'm not so crazy after all... Read this. Amazing.
